Overview
The Atmel® AVR® ATmega128 is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture. By executing powerful instructions in a single clock cycle, the ATmega128 achieves throughputs approaching 1MIPS per MHz allowing the system designer to optimize power consumption versus processing speed. The Atmel® AVR® core combines a rich instruction set with 32 general purpose working registers. All the 32 registers are directly connected to the Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU), allowing two independent registers to be accessed in one single instruction executed in one clock cycle. The resulting architecture is more code efficient while achieving throughputs up to ten times faster than conventional CISC microcontrollers.

   – Data retention: 20 years at 85°C/100 years at 25°C(1)
   – Optional Boot Code Section with Independent Lock Bits

      True Read-While-Write Operation
   – Up to 64Kbytes Optional External Memory Space
   – Programming Lock for Software Security
   – SPI Interface for In-System Programming

   – Capacitive touch buttons, sliders and wheels
   – QTouch and QMatrix acquisition
   – Up to 64 sense channels
• JTAG (IEEE std. 1149.1 Compliant) Interface
