APPENDIX A: PCnet™-FAST III Recommended Magnetics

The PCnet-FAST III controller uses magnetics that

have a Transmit (TX) turns ratio of 1:1.414 and a Re-

ceive (RX) turns ratio of 1:1. The following table shows

the current approved vendor list of 3.3 V magnetics rec-

ommended for use with the PCnet-FAST III device.

These magnetics modules are pin compatible with the

AMD Am79C873 NetPHY-1 10/100 PHY magnetics

and LevelOne LXT970 10/100 PHY magnetics that are

used today with PCnet-FAST and PCnet-FAST+, but

are not the same part numbers since the turns ratios

are different.
