General Description
Realtek’s ALC1200 HD Audio codec SoC’s is a low-power, 110dB SNR, high performance
multi-channel audio codec with Realtek proprietary lossless content protection technology protects
pre-recorded lossless contents, allowing full-rate audio enjoyment from DVD Audio and Blu-ray DVD or
HD DVD discs. The Audio fidelity of the device exceeds Microsoft WLP 4.0 Desktop and Notebook
Premium Logo requirements. Additionally, the device achieve a high level integration by featuring an
integrated 5-volt to 4.5-volt low-dropout(LDO) voltage regulator that guarantees high performance
analog audio performance without incurring external BOM. and an integrated 3.3-volt to 1.8-volt
low-dropout voltage regulator used to power internal digital blocks.
The ALC1200 provides ten DAC channels that simultaneously support 7.1-channel playback, plus 2
channels of independent stereo output (multiple streaming) through the front panel stereo output with up
to 110dB Signal-to-Noise (SNR). Two stereo ADCs are integrated and can support multiple analog audio
inputs, that support Real Time Communication applications ,including a 102dB SNR stereo line level and
Microphone input and microphone array with software features Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Beam
Forming (BF), Noise Suppression (NS) and Far Field voice Pick up (FFP) technologies.
All analog I/O are input and output capable, and all can be re-tasked according to user definitions. There
are three headphone amplifiers integrated at analog output ports (port-D/port-E/port-F). These
high-output power headphone drivers deliver 30mW into 32 ohm load, eliminating the need for an
external headphone amplifier.
Support for 16/20/24-bit SPDIF output with up to 192kHz sample rate offers easy connection of PCs to
High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) transmitters or consumer electronic products such as digital
decoders and A/V receivers.
The ALC1200 supports host audio from the Intel and AMD chipsets, and also from any other HDA
compatible audio controller that is HDA specification 1.0a compliant. With various software utilities like
environment sound emulation, multiple-band and independent software equalizer, dynamic range
compressor and expander, optional third parties software features from Dolby, DTS, Nahimic, Waves and
Fortemedia, Creative Host Audio, the ALC1200 offers the highest sound quality, providing an excellent
entertainment package and game experience for PC users.
