The AS621x is connected to a microcontroller via an I²C bus (SDA and SCL only). Additionally the Alert output can also be used for temperature monitoring (e.g. using the interrupt mode, refer to IM bit settings), an example is given in Figure 34 where the Alert output is connected to microcontroller. The I²C address of the AS621x can be selected by connecting the ADD0 and ADD1 to different pins (see Figure 28). These pins must not be left unconnected.
