General Description
TheHT7938Aishighefficiencyboostconverterwith
constantcurrentoutputforbacklightapplicationsin
handhelddevices.UsingaseriesconnectionofLEDs
providesconstantidenticalLEDcurrentsresultingin
uniformbrightness.ThecontinuousLEDcurrentis
setusingthedeviceFBpinregulatedvoltageacross
anexternalsenseresistor,RFB,connectedbetweenthis
pinandground.Theintegratedopenloadprotection
feature prevents device damage resulting from
opencircuitloadconditions.Alow200mV/300mV
feedback voltage minimises power losses inthe
currentsettingresistorwhichprovidesenhanced
efficiency.TheHT7938Ahasadimmingfrequencyof
upto200kHz,whichhasexcellentlinearperformance
over this dimming frequency range.The device
switchesatratesofupto1.2MHztoallowtheuseof
extremelysmallinductorsandfiltercapacitors.
