5.2. Applicators

Each applicator is designed to crimp tape-mounted receptacle contacts onto pre-stripped wire, and provides for

high volume, heavy-duty production requirements. The applicator must be installed onto a power unit.

5.3. Power Units

These power units provide the force required to drive the applicator.

5.4. Insertion Tooling

The hand insertion tool is designed to insert a single pin into the pc board.

The insertion machine is a computer

–controlled automatic X–Y positioner that positions the pc board so that

pins can be inserted using an insertion module.
