Status Register (Register 1)

The MII Management Status Register identifies the

physical and auto-negotiation capabilities of the PHY.

This register is read only; a write will have no effect.

See Table C-72.

10 Mbps Half Duplex

1 = PHY able to operate at 10 Mbps full-duplex mode

1 = remote fault condition detected

0 = no remote fault condition detected

Auto-Negotiation Ability

1 = PHY is able to perform Auto-Negotiation

0 = PHY is not able to perform Auto-Negotiation

1 = link is up

0 = link is down

Jabber Detect

1 = jabber condition detected,

0 = no jabber condition detected

Extended Capability

1 = extended register capabilities,

0 = basic register set capabilities only
