CHANGE FUSES

1. On the back panel (see

page 10), locate the Fuse Box.

2. Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the slot (1) at the

top of the box and twist to open faceplate.

3. Install the fuses, one on each side of the receptacle,

as shown in the image below, making sure the fuses

contact the metal plate at the connector end of the fuse

receptacle.

4. Insert the fuse drawer in the fuse box, positioned as

shown below. Press firmly to make sure the drawer is

completely seated and flush with the box.

5. Close the faceplate, again pressing firmly until it is flush.

UPDATE THE FIRMWARE

The firmware can be updated on the instrument using the rear

USB connection.

1. On the Wavelength Electronics website, navigate to one

of the following download locations:

Either the Temperature Controller or the Laser Driver

tab on the Software Downloads page.

Download & Design Tools tab on the LD250mTC5

LAB, LD2TC5 LAB or LD5TC10 LAB product pages.

NOTE: USE Firmware Version 2.01 and later for

LDTC LAB Revision E. Use Firmware Version 1.11 for

LDTC LAB Revisions A-D. To determine the revision of

the LDTC LAB, the third character in the Serial Number

(

Figure 25) indicates the instrument revision. In Figure 25

the revision is A.

Installing the wrong revision of firmware may require

recalibration at the factory.

2. Save the firmware update file and the Firmware Update

Application to the hard drive of a computer.

3. Connect the instrument to the computer via the USB

connection on the rear panel, and turn on the rear power

switch.

4. Open the Firmware Update Application.

5. Select the unit to update in the application.

6. Drag & drop the file into the application window or browse

for the file to select the firmware update.

The application will verify the update to ensure that the

correct file and instrument have been selected.

You should see the old and new firmware version on

the screen.

7. Press Start. The screen on the instrument will show

"Updating Firmware. Check App for status."

8. Cycle power on the instrument when application has

finished.

9. The instrument will automatically install the firmware

immediately following the reboot.

The screen will

show version number, application verification, SDCard

detection, file check, and new firmware installation.

10. The instrument is ready to run when returned to home

(remote) screen.
